Ben Nevis Challenge 25 - 27 September 2009
On Saturday 26 September 13 participants successfully climbed Ben Nevis, Britian’s hightest peak standing at 4,406ft.
The good causes benefitting from the group’s efforts included Diabetes UK, The Northern Ireland Children’s Hospice, the Scottish Council on Deafness and Bone Cancer Research.
Although the weather forecast for the day wasn’t particularly promising the group were in high spirits as they headed off from Achintee at 8.00am.
Although a bit dull and overcast the group did get some spectacular views from the summit.
We must mention the time taken by the group this weekend. The First participants were back at Achintee at 1.52pm having completed the climb in just under 6 hrs. The rest of the group were all finished by 3.00pm, just under 7 hrs and a great achievement – WELL DONE!!!!!!
