Charity Walkers Conquer Scafell
On Saturday 4 July 2008 8 participants successfully climbed Scafell Pike (3,208ft) raising valuable funds on behalf of Epilepsy Action and Alzheimer Scotland – Action on Dementia. The group started their ascent from Seathwaite in Borrowdale following the slightly longer of the two main routes up Scafell.
It was a bit of a mixed bag in terms of weather, overcast, low cloud and intermittent showers however it was considerably cooler than off late.
The group completed their challenge in a little over 10 hours and although exhausted were all elated by their achievement.
Well done to everyone taking part on such a great effort and marvellous achievement from Ian and Alice.
