Charitytrek Open Ben Nevis Challenge 15 - 17 May 2009
On Saturday 16 May 48 participants gathered at Achintee in Fort William ready take part in the Charitytrek Open Ben Nevis Challenge.
Charities benefitting from the event included Diabetes UK, Diabetes UK (Local Support Group), Bethany Children's Trust, Alzheimer's Society, MND (Scottish Motor Neurone Disease), NICMA (Northern Ireland Childminding Association, Scottish Council on Deafness, Trinity Hospice (Blackpool) and Holly Hedge Dog Sanctuary.
The weather turned out to be much kinder to the group that had been forecast and although conditions towards the top were what one could only describe as tricky with poor visibility, rain and snow, all but four managed to reach the summit.
Well done to those reaching the summit and to those who only made it as far as the Mid Way Lochan, Red Burn and top of the Zig Zags.
Everone should feel immensely proud of their achievement and the valuable and much needed funds you've raised for your chosen charity.
